This blank journal uses the beautiful and classic Japanese stitch called kikko toji or  "tortoise shell." It can be used Western style or turn it over for Eastern orientation. The pages are heavy text-weight paper so that most writing inks won't soak through, the finished journal is perfect for any occasion that calls for a guest book or album. Attach photographs to the pages and spacers in the spine and you can use it as a scrapbook. This kit has a lot of great uses.

The instructions are full of diagrams. The stitch is fun and easy to learn.
